The installation method of space structures should be determined comprehensively based on the type, force and structural characteristics of the structure, under the premise of ensuring quality and safety, combined with progress, economy and technical conditions of the construction site. The following methods can be used for the installation of space structures:

- High-altitude bulk method: Applicable to various types of space structuresassembled with full brackets, especially for structures with non-welded connections such as bolt connections and pin connections. And according to the structural characteristics, the cantilever assembly construction method with few supports can be selected: the internal expansion method (cantilever assembly from the side support to the center) and the external expansion method (cantilever assembly from the center to the side support).
- Strip or block installation method: It is suitable for space structureswith small changes in the stiffness and stress conditions of the structure after segmentation. The size of the strips or blocks should be determined according to the lifting capacity of the lifting equipment.
- Sliding method: It is suitable for various space structuresthat can be set up with parallel slide rails, especially for situations where it is necessary to cross the construction (the lower part of the roof structure to be installed is not allowed to set up supports or walking cranes) or the site is narrow and the lifting and transportation are inconvenient. When the space grid structure is a large column grid or a narrow and long plane, the sliding frame method can be used for construction.
- Overall hoisting method: It is suitable for small and medium-sized space structures. It can be translated or rotated in place at high altitude during hoisting.
- Overall lifting method: It is suitable for various space structures. After the overall assembly of the structure on the ground is completed, it is lifted to the design elevation and put in place.
- Overall lifting method: Applicable to various space structureswith fewer fulcrums. After the structure is assembled on the ground, it is lifted to the designed elevation and put in place.
- Folding and unfolding overall lifting method Applicable to cylindrical lattice shell structures, etc. Fold and assemble on the ground or on a working platform close to the ground, then lift the folded mechanism to the designed elevation with a lifting device, and finally fill in the previously removed rods at high altitude to turn the mechanism into a structure.
