Anti-Corrosion Treatment Process of Space Frame

Rust removal and anti-corrosion construction process for steel structure roof (wall, indoor): Rust removal → cleaning → anti-corrosive primer painting (spraying) → inspection and repainting → anti-corrosive finish painting (spraying) → anti-corrosive finish painting (spraying)

  1. Requirements of rust removal: after the rust removal, use the special equipment to make the polished or sandblast cleaning without the existence of rust spots, oil, grease, sand, iron sand, and metal oxides. After rust removal, the primer must be sprayed within six hours for anti-corrosion treatment, and before the spraying process, if it rains or other things make the surface of the matrix steel is wet, please wait until the environment meets the construction conditions, use dry compressed air to dry the surface moisture and make rust removal; before proceeding to the next procedure, the steel surface reaches the grade Sa2.5, and the surface can be cleaned with brushes and other tools. It requires the surface of the steel to present metallic luster, and the rust spot and paint on each square meter of the metal surface shall not be greater than 5%. If rust has returned before primer coating, re-polish or re-sandblast to remove rust, and don’t reduce the abrasive requirements to avoid reducing the roughness.
  2. Cleaning requirements: High-pressure cleaning equipment is used, the base course surface must be clean, and the cracks, uneven parts, and hidden corners must be cleaned thoroughly. The base surface must be firm and flat, and the parts that are uneven or have cracks must be reinforced before construction; the base surface must be cleared thoroughly without dirt, floating dust, debris, water, oil or lose material and other impurities, and keep it clean and sanitary at all times.
  3. Anti-corrosion primer process requirements: Before construction, the base surface must be kept free of floating rust, no wet stains, no water, and clean, not in rainy weather conditions.  Use high-pressure spraying equipment for construction, the construction materials must be no precipitation with strict testing, make all opened materials used on the same day. Before using the spray material, a special grinder must be used to mix to ensure that no blockage occurs during the construction of high-pressure spraying equipment, the spraying process must be even, with no accumulation, and no omission.
  4. Check and repaint: carefully check the anti-corrosion weak links such corners, edge joints, horizontal lap, vertical lap, fan mouth, extended roof pipes, air conditioning pipes, joints between metal plates and daughter walls, screws, and firmware (wall corners, C-steel, H-steel, wire ducts, ceiling hanging rods, pipes) and another metal roof (wall, indoor), make sure all edges and corners are sprayed in place.
  5. Anti-corrosive topcoat process requirements: The topcoat construction can only be carried out after the surface of the primer is dry, using special high-pressure spraying equipment for construction, the anti-corrosive coating should be evenly thin and thick, meets the design requirements; do not allow the shedding, accumulation of cracks, warping, bubbling, layering, not tightly closed and other defects. The construction ensures seamless and comprehensive coverage of the entire grassroots. After the completion of the project, the maintenance period will begin, prohibiting anyone from entering the construction site.
