China steel structure space frame industry has developed rapidly during the past 10 years or so, and China’s space frame structure has become one of the world’s largest steel structures in terms of volume, manufacturing and construction capacity, industry scale and enterprise scale.
The successful construction of large steel structure space frame project shows that the comprehensive technical level of steel structure in China is already at the international advanced level. However, there is still a big gap between China’s steel structure industry and developed countries in terms of informationization, automation, standardization and scientific research and innovation. 2011 is the beginning of the national “12th Five-Year Plan”, and relevant national ministries, industry associations, enterprise groups and steel structure enterprises are conducting research and analyzing the market and future development trend. The National Development and Reform Commission, Ministry of Industry and Information Technology, Ministry of Science and Technology are also studying the strategic new industries to determine and plan targets, and industries with international advanced level, strong independent innovation capability, strong international competition and can occupy more markets will be included in the planning and given support and supportive policies. Opportunity is also a challenge, whether China’s steel structure industry on the stage, on the scale, the development of the “12th Five-Year Plan” period is crucial.
After researching and listening to the opinions and suggestions of relevant experts, China Steel Structure Association has drafted the “Strategic Thinking and Draft Proposal on Steel Structure Industry in National 12th Five-Year Plan”.
In 2022,Steel structure industry due to its economic and technological superiority, low-carbon emission reduction, circular economy and industrialization and industrialization, the steel structure industry can better adapt to and meet the current needs of China’s national economic construction, and will become one of the new industries with a broad market, many enterprises, constant innovation and full of vigorous vitality.
