Control specifications during space frame welding work

According to the ISO9001 quality management system control standards, the space frame manufacturer has adopted the following control measures for people, machines, materials, methods, and environment in the execution of this welding project:

Steel space frame construction

1.Control of “materials”. “Materials” primarily refer to the welding raw material quality, welding raw materials (welding wire, flux, welding rod), etc. The control of “materials” mainly includes: certification of welding raw material certificates, quality confirmation, appearance quality, packaging, marking, etc., and re-inspection when necessary.

2.Control of “people”. “People” primarily refers to the space frame construction workers and inspectors/testers. According to the provisions of the ISO9001 quality management system, firstly, the qualifications and abilities of welding workers and non-destructive testing technicians are evaluated, including whether the professional qualification certificate is reasonable, and whether the allowable operation scope indicated by the professional qualification certificate is consistent with the upcoming project. For example, whether the welding raw material quality, welding method, and welding position are consistent with the welding qualification certificate; secondly, necessary professional technical training is carried out. For example, to ensure the quality of construction, all welders participating in this welding project have taken the exam and obtained the qualification certificate according to the requirements of Chapter 8 “Welder Examination” of JGJ81-91 “Building Steel Structure Welding Code”, before they start welding on site.

3.Control of “methods”. “Methods” primarily refer to the welding process, including the welding process identification of the space frame factory and the welding construction process plan. It is a key stage in welding quality control. For welding process identification, we first formulate and clarify the welding process, and on this basis, we clarify the heating, post-heating and interlayer temperature, electrical characteristics (type of welding current, polarity, welding current, welding working voltage), operational characteristics (welding speed, whether to swing, main parameters of swing, welding level), etc.

4.Control of “machines”. “Machines” refer to welding machine equipment, drying machine equipment, and non-destructive testing equipment. Before the construction of the project, we evaluate and inspect the relevant equipment in advance. For example, the pre-evaluation and inspection of welding equipment include: whether the model specification of the welding machine matches the welding process, whether the welding current and working voltage are stable, the adjustment effect of the welding machine current, whether the inspection instrument panel on the welding machine is reasonable, etc.; the evaluation and inspection content of non-destructive testing equipment mainly includes: whether the equipment capacity is consistent with the inspection requirements of the welding parts, whether the equipment operation is normal, etc.
