Indoor Ski Resort Roof Spherical Space Frame Structure Project

The indoor ski slope roof space frame lifting operation of the Ice North project was officially launched, which also marked a new phase of the project construction.

When we entered the construction site of the Ice Snow North project, the first thing that caught our eyes was the tower cranes, construction vehicles shuttling back and forth, different types of workers are in order to carry out various construction operations, a busy scene. The deputy manager of the contractor’s Ice North project introduced that the total construction area of the Ice North project is about 300,000 square meters, consisting of 4 single buildings including 1 indoor ski resort, 1 water park, 1 boutique hotel and 1 resort hotel. At present, the 2 hotels have completed the structural roofing, and will enter the curtain wall and interior decoration construction. The water park and indoor ski resort are in the structural construction stage, among which the indoor ski resort has officially started the roof space frame lifting operation on August 31. The space frame adopts the form of ball and connecting rod, and the weight of the whole space frame is nearly 8000 tons, which is the largest existing spherical space frame structure in China.

It is reported that the roof space frame of the indoor ski resort is divided into 5 blocks, using the construction plan of in-situ lifting, from low to high individually lifting, and finally forming a whole space frame, of which the lowest distance from the ground is about 25 meters to 30 meters, and the highest distance from the ground is about 80 meters. The space frame of block 2 is currently being lifted, which is about 125 meters long and 51 meters wide, with a total area of 6,500 square meters and a total weight of about 1,800 tons. Taking the No. 2 block space frame as an example, there are 13 lifting points with hydraulic and jacking lifting systems arranged on them, using computers for precise control. Because the heights of the 13 points are different and the weights of the space frames are different, each point is controlled individually by the computer and the height of each lift is precisely calculated and controlled.

According to the construction schedule, the space frame of block 2 will be completed on September 5 to lift the operation, and it is planned to complete the whole ski roof lifting operation within this year, and enter the indoor amusement project and the main packaging construction. According to the current construction progress, or strive to basically complete the project within the year 2022, to provide a new leisure and entertainment place for the city’s citizens.
