What are the processes used in light steel grids?

2025-04-25

There are many types of light steel grids, such as: inclined grids, prestressed grids, grids made of aluminum alloy, stainless steel and other materials, special grids, etc. These grids are divided according to materials and uses. Here we mainly talk about grids made of aluminum alloy, stainless steel and other materials, special grids and grid shell structures.

The light steel grid is a composite grid structure that replaces the steel upper chord with reinforced concrete upper chord plates. It is a new structural system developed in the past decade. It can give full play to the strength advantages of two different materials: mixed soil under pressure and steel under tension, so that the load-bearing and enclosure functions of the structure are combined into one.

The light steel grid is connected by welding or high-strength bolts. Hollow ball nodes and bolt ball nodes are suitable for grid structures of steel pipe rods. The nodes of single-layer shell grids should be able to withstand bending internal forces. Under normal circumstances, the steel consumption of the nodes accounts for 15-20% of the steel consumption of the entire steel grid structure.
